Quantum Computing in Practice: Hands-On with Qiskit

This course bridges the gap between Quantum Computing concepts, Quantum Information theory, and practical hands-on experience using Python and Qiskit. Students will set up and configure a Qiskit environment that enables them to design, execute, and analyze Quantum Circuits on both Quantum Simulators and Real Quantum Computers. Through practical exercises and application examples, they will develop a deeper understanding of Quantum Principles while gaining the confidence to work with Quantum Technologies. Throughout the course, students will strengthen their Quantum Computing skills and build an intuitive understanding of how Quantum Algorithms behave in practice. By the end of the course, participants will have developed a portfolio of practical Quantum Computing examples

What you will learn

In this course, you will develop a practical understanding of how Quantum Computing concepts translate into real-world programming and applications. You will learn:

  • The fundamentals of Qubits and Quantum Information, including superposition, entanglement, and interference.
  • How Quantum Computing concepts such as Qubits, Quantum Gates, and Quantum Circuits map to programming constructs.
  • How Quantum Programs are executed and how to interpret and analyze their results.
  • The different ways to measure and evaluate the outcomes of Quantum Computing experiments.
  • How superposition and entanglement enable new approaches to solving computational problems.
  • The different levels of abstraction for programming Quantum Computers, from Quantum Circuits to higher-level frameworks and algorithms.
  • The principles behind important Quantum Algorithms and their potential applications, including examples such as Grover’s search algorithm, Shor’s factoring algorithm, and Variational Quantum Algorithms.
